Privacy Policy

Likeitz (likeitz.com) is run by Grandfield Media Private Limited, Nacharam, Hyderabad 500076, India ("we", "us"). This policy says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and, if you give it, your city.
• Pictures and captions you post, with the category and place you choose. We remove the hidden metadata (EXIF, including GPS) from every uploaded picture before it is stored.
• Location: only if you allow it in your browser. We keep approximate coordinates on your account and on the pictures you post with location on, so people nearby can find them. You can turn it off any time ("Off" on the home page) and post without it.
• Hearts: which pictures you gave hearts to and how many (you must be logged in to give hearts).
• Technical: IP address and browser type in server logs, kept for security, abuse prevention and legal compliance for 180 days, as the Information Technology Rules require.
• Cookies: one session cookie (login) and one visitor cookie (to remember your location choice and limit abuse). No advertising or tracking cookies, no third-party analytics.

Automatic checks

Every uploaded picture is checked on our own server by an open-source nudity detector before it is stored; nothing is sent to a third party. Pictures with nudity are refused, borderline ones are held for a human look before they show, and a picture reported by several people is hidden until reviewed. Removed pictures are fingerprinted so they cannot be re-uploaded.

What we use it for

To run Likeitz: show your pictures and their hearts, rank pictures in a category and near a place, stop repeat voting and abuse, and answer your messages. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

What is public

Your name, city, the pictures you post, their captions, place, category and heart counts are public — anyone with the link, including people who are not logged in, can see them. Your email, password, exact coordinates and IP are never shown to anyone.

Who else sees it

Nobody, except the service providers that run our servers (Hetzner Online GmbH, Finland data centre) and DNS, who process data on our instructions. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you remove a picture it is deleted from our servers immediately, along with its hearts. When you delete your account (Dashboard → Delete my account) every picture and every heart you gave is deleted at once. As the Information Technology Rules require, we keep a minimal registration record (email, username, name, IP, dates) for 180 days after deletion and then erase it. Server backups are overwritten within 14 days.

Your rights

You can see and change your data in your account, remove any picture, and delete the account yourself. You can ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, and you can withdraw consent to location at any time. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Children

Likeitz is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has an account or appears in a picture in an unsafe way, report it and we will remove it.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Data is stored on a server in the EU with firewalled access and encrypted backups. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
